About Qualtec

Qualtec is a New Zealand electrical compliance business run by Tim Waite, with more than forty years in electrical and electronics work.

What we do differently

Most test-and-tag providers sell a unit price and a sticker. We sell a documented compliance position: a register of every electrical asset you own, defensible intervals set per area rather than blanket-applied, and reporting that stands up when someone asks to see it.

That distinction matters most when something goes wrong. A tag proves an item was tested on a date. A register proves you have a system.

Independent, and small on purpose

We are not a franchise. When you call, you speak to the person who does the work and who will be on your site. Nothing is subcontracted out to whoever is closest.

Being small also means we can be honest about scope. If you do not need testing as often as you have been told, we will say so, and we will explain what your obligations genuinely are rather than what is easiest to sell — starting with what the law actually requires of you.

Background

Tim Waite has spent a working lifetime in electrical and electronics — hardware, fault diagnosis, control systems and standby power. That background is why clients tend to call about the problems nobody else could work out, rather than only for scheduled testing.

Where we work

Service delivery across Waikato, Auckland, Bay of Plenty. The knowledge base on this site is written for New Zealand generally, and we are happy to answer questions from anywhere in the country whether or not we can take the job.
