An RCD is the last thing between a person and a fault. It is also the one protective device that degrades silently and is almost never measured.

Device-by-device register
Every fixed RCD and RCBO on the board, plus portable RCDs and PSOAs in service, identified against the circuits they protect.
Measured trip-time testing
Actual trip times recorded in milliseconds against the limits in the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010, not a pass or fail tick.
Push-button verification and user training
The push-button test proves the mechanism moves. It proves nothing about trip time. We do both, and show your people how and how often to do the push-button test themselves.
RCD type review
From 12 November 2026 new work must comply with the newly cited AS/NZS 3000:2018, which requires Type A, F or B RCDs rather than plain Type AC. We tell you what you have and where it matters.
Nuisance-trip diagnosis
Forty years of fault-finding. Cumulative earth leakage, moisture ingress, failing elements and DC leakage from electronic loads all look the same to a building owner and are not the same problem.
Reporting against the register
Results sit alongside the appliance and emergency lighting records, not in a separate system.
Common questions
Is pressing the test button enough?
No. The push-button test confirms the tripping mechanism operates. It does not measure trip time, and an RCD can pass the button test while tripping too slowly to protect anyone. Both tests have a place; only one of them is evidence.
How often should RCDs be tested?
It depends on the environment and on whether the device is fixed or portable. Push-button testing is frequent and can be done by the user; measured trip-time testing is periodic and needs an instrument. We set both intervals per site.
What is changing on 12 November 2026?
The Electricity (Safety) Amendment Regulations 2025 cited a new version of AS/NZS 3000. From 12 November 2026 new installation work must use it, and it requires RCDs to be Type A, F or B. Existing installations do not have to be upgraded merely because of this.
